Abstract
Geleneksel yaşam formlarından modern yaşam koşullarına geçiş sürecinde bireyin tecrübe ettiği dönüşümler, modernliğin temel parametreleriyle doğrudan bağlantılıdır. Bireyde meydana gelen ve onun modern yaşam koşullarıyla birlikte tanımlayabildiğimiz bu dönüşümler, modernliğin temel unsurlarının ortaya konmasıyla anlaşılabilir. Bu çalışma çağdaş düşünürler ekseninde modernliğin belirleyici unsurlarını ortaya koyarak bireydeki dönüşümleri analiz etmektedir.

Abstract
Status of Man on the Traditional-Modern Distinction The transformations which the individual has experienced in the process of transition from traditional to modern life forms are directly connected with the basic parameters of modernity. These transformations which has occurred in the individual and which we come to recognize with the modern living conditions of the individ-ual can be understood by revealing the main determinant elements of the modernity. This study analyzes the transformations in the in-dividual exposing the main diagnostic elements of modernity on the axis of the contemporary thinkers.
